Bring the ‘Om’ in your home!

We are only a week into ‘Lockdown’ but if you’ve already run out of things to do or are close to throwing all kids (and other halves) out, then have a look here for some great ideas on how to keep the whole family healthy and happy!

Headspace

There are a lot of unknowns in the world right now. But one thing is certain — Headspace is there for you. To help support you through this time of crisis, they’re offering some meditations you can listen to anytime. These are part of a larger collection in the Headspace app — free for everyone — called Weathering the storm. It includes meditations, sleep, and movement exercises to help you out, however you’re feeling. It’s their small way of helping you find some space and kindness for yourself and those around you.

The Body Coach (Joe Wicks)

Oh how we love Joe Wicks a.k.a the Body Coach.  Every Monday to Friday at 9am Joe is stepping up to act as the nation’s favourite PE teacher for kids and adults alike.  His 30-minute sessions can be found on his YouTube channel and via facebook (No app required).

Luminosity

Playing Candy Crush is a good way to relax, but it can also feel repetitive and mind numbing. If you like a little bit of escapism, consider swapping in some time with Luminosity. The games are fun but also train your brain and are designed to help with focus, cognition, and more. If you’re worried about getting brain fog sitting at home all day, this can be a way to stay sharp without feeling like you’re solving math problems again.

Yummly

The smart cooking sidekick that learns what you like and customises the experience to your personal tastes, nutritional needs, skill level, and more. Think Pinterest for foodies, this awesome site allows you to group and save your favourite recipes meaning you will never be lost for Dinner Inspiration again!

Overdrive (Meet Libby)

Your free library for ebooks, audiobooks, podcasts, films and more. Easy to find menus and their cute make all app features, including your bookshelf, library websites, and bookmarks just a swipe or tap away.

No, you don’t have to own the all singing and all dancing bike to use the Peloton app. Currently, they are offering its library of classes, including boot camps, running, and yoga, free of charge for 90 days to new users. (After that, it’s $12.99/month.) Like Aaptiv, Peloton offers a series of courses or lets you choose as you go. The app also tracks your progress and gives you “badges” as you unlock achievements.
