Outdoor Ice Rinks – let’s go skating!
Outdoor ice rinks are popping up all over the place – here are our favourites across the South of England:
- Skate at Somerset House, London. The iconic 18th century courtyard transforms into the ultimate winter destination for stylish skating, music, festive shopping and gourmet food.
- Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, London. Skate to live music before going on a deep sea adventure past mystical water creatures made from ice and snow in the Magical Ice Kingdom, and watching The Imperial Ice Stars’ world champion skaters perform Cinderella on Ice.
- Tower of London. Take in the magic and ambience of the castle beside the Thames, which offers a unique and unforgettable ice skating setting.
- Natural History Museum, London. The east lawn is transformed into a magical setting complete with thousands of fairy lights, a fairground carousel, gift shop and café.
- Calverley Grounds, Tunbridge Wells, Kent. A beautiful winter wonderland with toddler sessions during school hours.
- Bluewater Ice Rink, Kent. Including hot drinks from an alpine cabin and a giant, sparkly Christmas tree
- White Cliffs Christmas, Dover, Kent. The Old Marine Station at the Port of Dover will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland complete with a Santa’s grotto, a festive bar and traditional Christmas market as well as a bigger than ever ice rink.
- Royal Pavilion, Brighton, Sussex. The colourfully lit onion domes of Brighton Pavilion back the city’s seasonal ice rink this winter
- Winchester Cathedral Ice Rink, Hampshire. Beside the cathedral but under a clear roof enjoy a skate before tucking into mince-pies and Prosecco rink-side. There’s also a Christmas market until 22 Dec.
