Facing the cold – time to winterproof your skin
There is nothing that Sarah Barclay, leading beauty editor and columnist doesn’t know about the beauty industry and more importantly there isn’t a product she hasn’t tested! Luckily for us, she’s here to share her secrets…
Nights are drawing in and temperatures are dropping. Here’s how to face the elements looking and feeling fabulous
CLEANSE GENTLY Chances are your summer cleanser has either run low or may not leave your skin feeling as comfortable as it did in when temperatures were higher. Consider switching to a richer, more hydrating formula particularly if you have dry/normal skin. Once of the best is Jurlique’s Nourishing Cleansing Oil which turns milky on contact with water and leaves the skin feeling clean but comfortable. £32 jurlique.com
WINTER EYES Puffy eyes are always worse in the winter. Rather than overloading the skin at night with a potentially exacerbating eye product, use a hydrating and soothing formula in the morning. Institute Esthederm Intensive Hyaluronic Eye Serum £32.90 is light, refreshing on contact and reduces puffiness. £32.90 at Feelunique.com
SEASONAL OIL De Mamiel offer seasonal skincare and their Winter Face Oil, is a lovely cosy blend of warming arctic cranberry, sea buckthorn and patchouli. Deliciously scented and very restorative it targets redness and dehydration. £80 demamiel.com
RICHER MOISTURE Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream. Central heating and extremes of hot and cold, not least going out on the school run and walking the dog can leave a face looking a bit to hearty for its own good. Step forward this brilliant straightforward and effective rich moisturiser. £26 kiehls.co.uk
QUICK SKIN FIX Erborian Pink Blur Soften imperfections and fine lines with this clever easy to use handy make-up stick. If you like a no-make-up look this is one quick way to fake looking flawless. £18 At Space NK
