Great Missenden

A little throwback treat for you but also great for the kids. Great Missenden is a cute, picturesque village that was famously home to one of the greatest children’s writers of all time, Roald Dahl! You can immerse yourself in storytelling at the Roald Dahl museum and explore gorgeous nearby countryside with footpaths, streams and gorgeous views in this area of outstanding beauty. If you’re craving some beach time but also want a little more out of the day, the lovely hidden seaside town of Deal in Kent really is the perfect day trip. Once you’ve had your fill of the pretty pebble beach, explore Deal Castle built by Henry VIII, stop to eat at the many buzzy lunch spots and then visit the Deal Farmer’s Market. Before you head home make sure you stop by Le Pinardier to buy some divine bottles of specially selected French wine.
