Popcorn at the ready! Six of the best viewing picks for this month

Never thought we’d say this, but thank goodness for all this month’s rain!  It’s been a great excuse to stay inside, open the popcorn and settle down for some great binge-worthy TV. Here are some of the favourites we’ve been watching this month, enjoy!

TOP DOCUMENTARIES

HILLARY – (NOW TV)

This four-part documentary series provides an intimate portrait of former first lady and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. She shares her feelings on everything from her husband’s notorious affair to what it was like running an election campaign against Donald Trump.  It’s a fascinating watch and gives a real insight into what goes on behind the scenes and what makes her tick.

DRIVE TO SURVIVE – (NETFLIX)

Great viewing for even ‘non-petrolheads’.  This Netflix original takes you behind the scenes of Formula 1, following the lives of drivers, managers and team owners during the 2018 and 2019 World Championships.

BINGE-WORTHY BOXSETS

OZARK – (NETFLIX)

After a money laundering scheme for a Mexican drug cartel goes wrong, financial advisor Marty Byrde proposes to make amends by offering to set up a bigger laundering operation in the Lake of the Ozarks region of central Missouri. When the Byrdes arrive in Missouri, they become entangled with local criminals, including the Langmore and Snell families, and later the Kansas City Mafia.

DIRTY JOHN/BETTY- (NETFLIX)

The second in the Dirty John series focuses on the true story of Betty Broderick, a woman driven mad by her adultorous ex-husband.  It’s a tragic tale of murder and gaslighting.  Question is, who’s side are you on? Oh and where has Christian Slater been hiding all these years?

GUILTY PLEASURES – (Shhh! don’t tell anyone…)

SELLING SUNSET – (NETFLIX)

Truly binge-worthy viewing and once you start watching, you’ll be hooked!  Follow the lives of the real estate agents at Los Angeles’ Oppenheim Group. Full of drama, gossip and total outrageousness – not to mention getting to snoop inside some jaw-dropping $$$ homes on Sunset Strip.

DYNASTY – (NETFLIX)

Whilst the chandelier earrings and whopping shoulder pads are a thing of the past, Alexis, Krystle, Blake and Fallon are all back on the scene in the remake of this 80’s classic.  Same drama, same catfights, same over-the-top plotlines, What’s not to love?
