Head's Up

Bryanston is not bound by tradition. We are a forward-thinking and outward-looking school, proud of the reputation and calibre of our education of what we stand for, of our family ethos, and of the ways in which our pupils go on to make their mark upon the world. Pupils are encouraged to think imaginatively and intelligently break convention.

The inside track from a current parent

Bryanston is one of our most local secondary schools but it very quickly stood out as the best. Not only is the student body large enough to enable the school to offer a varied academic and extra-curricular timetable but its facilities are so superb that the experience is equivalent to an out-of-school specialist centre – enabling a child to experience activities to a professional standard. Encouraging a child to experience such a variety of opportunities helps them to recognise and develop their own interests. Continually keeping them busy with a balance of music, sport, craft and academia whilst supporting them to manage their own schedule enables them to make their own decisions and encourages them to become invested in their future. By choosing how to spend their time, it helps to achieve more in everything they elect to do.

As parents we love...

  • The junior boys house allows one more year of growing up within senior school
  • The variety of activities and the quality of the facilities
  • The one-to-one tutor system in addition to the housemaster and the very many other levels of staffing provides a varied and balanced support system for my child

As pupils we love...

  • The food
  • The variety of activities
  • The quality of the staff

What makes us different

At Bryanston, every pupil receives an unrivalled level of individual attention and support. Pupils benefit from extensive one-to-one time with their personal tutor and, as they move up through the School, also with their subject teachers, providing the academic and pastoral encouragement they need to achieve their full potential as individuals.

We believe pupils do best when they learn to relish every opportunity and discover their own individual talents and interests, exploring them to the best of their abilities. Pupils are encouraged to experience a wide range of academic subjects and extra-curricular activities, all of which helps them to discover areas where they can flourish and excel.

Education is not about moulding, nor are children end products. We believe that education is an exciting process, organic and ongoing; that pupils learn better actively, growing up in secure surroundings, than if passively taught; that to lead successful lives, at school and beyond, each needs to be prepared to give of his or her own talents and to value those of others.
