Head's Up
“Rugby School’s mantra is ‘The Whole Person is the Whole Point’ – our pupils are achieving the best academic results in the School’s history, but that is just one part of the whole story.”
Peter Green
The inside track from a current parent
Rugby has a genuinely holistic approach with excellence across many different disciplines, producing students who are able yet humble. The school is celebrating its best academic results ever with 15 pupils recently accepted into Oxbridge. All pupils get a chance to shine – the diverse range of opportunity in sports, arts and drama offered is immense, and pupils are actively encouraged to participate across disciplines.
The Arnold Foundation awards fully-funded places to bright but disadvantaged children who are fully part of the fabric of boarding school life. An intrinsic part of being a Rugbeian is how well they are equipped with the tools they need to succeed in the wider world.

What makes us different
In 2018 our students celebrated the best A Level and Pre U results achieved in a decade and the School’s best ever GCSE results. At A Level over 85% of students achieved and A* to B, with an impressive 57% achieving an A* (9 or 8), while at GSCE over 94% achieved an A* to B.
All sports at Rugby are valued equally – our ethos is ‘no one on the bench’. In Music, we teach 523 instrumental lessons weekly and students feature in more than 70 musical events annually.
In addition to all this, pupils here can learn, grow and explore with more than 180 co-curricular activities
