Head's Up
Since taking the helm in 2013, Natasha Dangerfield has forged significant development at Westonbirt, overseeing the transition to coeducation and driving substantial growth in recent years. A mother of three teens, Mrs Dangerfield believes in supporting individuals to become the best version of themselves, fostering an environment that inspires students to fulfil potential by learning from their mistakes and empowering pupils to risk-take within a supportive and nurturing environment.
Mrs Dangerfield champions a holistic approach to education which is well supported by the abundance of outdoor space for sports and a strong extra-curricular programme. She is passionate about nurturing a rich boarding community at Westonbirt which is filled with opportunity and benefits days students, as much as boarders.
Success is celebrated at Westonbirt and development is nourished. 90% of students achieve their first choice university and the school is placed within the top 5% for value added.

The inside track from a current parent
We chose Westonbirt School for our daughter and son as we wanted a smaller school with a family feel and we wanted a co-educational school so that both our children could attend together. We have been delighted with our choice. The staff at Westonbirt really know our children and the teachers have a great relationship with the children. Our son and daughter have both gained in confidence by having teachers take a close interest in their learning and they have thrived in the environment. There is a wide choice of subjects and they have both enjoyed learning new subjects. Our daughter has particularly enjoyed being able to continue with her dance studies at school. They love the fun-filled nature of the school and always come home happily chatting about the great time they have had with their friends each day. There is plenty of opportunity for extra-curricular activities and sport and the grounds are beautiful and enjoyed by all. Westonbirt gives pupils the skills they need in the wider world such as confidence, breadth of knowledge and compassion. Westonbirt is a very caring school. It feels as if the staff have the children’s best interests at heart and we feel safe knowing that they are in such a safe, happy environment. We are particularly impressed by the leadership of the Headteacher, Mrs Dangerfield, who is so approachable and instils confidence in the pupils. We feel very lucky that our children are experiencing such a wonderful and varied education at Westonbirt.

What makes us different
Westonbirt School is a co-ed day and boarding school housed within a Victorian mansion and set within breathtakingly beautiful parkland grounds.
You will find an inspired community from our rising 2 year olds in Nursery, to the students who are preparing to leave for their first choice university in Year 13. Westonbirt offers a holistic approach to education and the opportunity for students to flourish in a ‘greenhouse, not a hot house’ environment. With consistently strong results, it is the passion from staff that fuels teaching and ensures the learning environment is rich and filled with the expectation that each pupil will fulfil their potential and beyond.
At Westonbirt Prep children are immersed in a culture that promotes a love of learning, a desire to improve and a bravery to try new and exciting things without fear of failure. These are coupled with a strong emphasis on values such as respect, determination, friendship, courage and equality and a passion from staff to develop the whole child as a person as well as a learner. The intrinsic motivation to succeed is driven by enjoyment, engagement and security and children are provided with all of these through outstanding academic, pastoral and extra-curricular provision.
The close-knit prep school is able to provide the material benefits of much larger school, such as a state of the art sports centre and swimming pool, a 9 hole golf course and access to the specialist facilities and teaching of Westonbirt’s Senior School with whom the Prep shares its inspiring site.
Westonbirt offers exceptional senior education in small classes with passionate teaching staff dedicated to ensuring each student reaches their full potential. All pupils benefit from the boarding school ethos and the vibrant boarding community which inhabits the extensive parkland grounds.
Westonbirt Sixth Form is a place for students to develop academic, extra-curricular, and social potential. With university-style living, students are encouraged to develop independence within a supportive environment which fosters self-discipline and promotes leadership opportunities. With 90% of students achieving their first choice university, Westonbirt pupils grow into the sort of young people that employers desire, developing the confidence and qualities to become the best version of themselves.
