Does your house need a post holiday facelift? Bee Osborn shows us how
The kids are back at school and the house is a mess! September is a great month for a revamp. Time to clear out those cupboards and re-invent some rooms and best of all, it doesn’t needn’t be expensive! Bee Osborn shares her clever tips for giving your home that much needed face lift.
Decluttering and getting the house organised makes a world of difference. Hiding away kids games and toys in designated cupboards, baskets and trunks will clear up the space and give a more grown-up feel to your house.
Styling and dressing up the coffee table with your favourite coffee table books and decorative items will create a lovely feeling and look in your sitting room.
It’s also the perfect time to bring out the new linens, by updating your old or worn out cushion covers and throws and creating a more sophisticated living space. Why not brave it and bring in some lovely whites into the home that were seen as too risky while the kids were home.
Changing up the rug will also transform a space, we love to use sisal and jute rugs for a natural and organic feel.
Bringing in plants and greenery can add life to the home and the interiors.
This is also the ideal time to bring in gorgeous candles and lantern, with less worry about fire hazards with the kids out.
Updating the kids rooms into more grown-up with great storage solutions to allow to be used as guest bedrooms when needed.
Making the bathroom the peaceful haven it was always intended to be. Purchasing new luxury bath and body products you’ve always wanted, but didn’t want your kids to use up carelessly. And adding a bath caddy with a wine glass holder and a scented candle to make it that little bit extra special.
Introducing a bar to your home can be a fun addition when entertaining friends. This can simply be a drinks trolly that instantly gives the feeling of fun and maturity to any room and occasion.
And simply enjoying the peacefulness and the clear kitchen counters where nobody is piling up dirty dishes anymore.
