Mock results not quite what you were expecting?
For many of our children January was a tough old month, not just with taking mock exams, but possibly not getting the results they wanted or were expecting. As a parent, it can be tricky understanding how you can help your child manage disappointment but more importantly get them back on track, motivated and ready for the real thing this Summer. If you feel your child might need a little extra support or a boost, Harrow School are running fantastic GCSE, IGCSE and A Level revision courses over the Easter holidays.
Held from the 4th -17th April, these courses are suitable for students in their final year of GCSE and IGCSE courses, usually students studying in Year 11 and those students in the final year of A Levels, usually Year 13. All courses are designed for exams to be taken in summer 2020 and have been created to improve candidates’ grades by increasing their knowledge, refining their examination technique and by boosting confidence.

Not only did she come away having understood certain topics more clearly but it gave her a huge confidence boost because it made her appreciate what she could in fact achieve. Thereafter she was happy to tackle practice papers and just seek help if she got stuck on individual questions rather than being daunted by the prospect of doing a whole paper.”
The courses are for revision of work already covered and if there are minor gaps in knowledge, or areas that have been covered already but have been forgotten or not understood very well. Please note that by attending one on the courses a student will be guaranteed a high grade. Grades are clearly also affected by the amount of revision each student does after the courses and by their actual performance during the exam.

Many of the tutors teach at Harrow School all year round, and others teach at other reputable schools such as The John Lyon School (The same foundation as Harrow School), Radley College, Merchant Taylors’ School and Roedean School. All are selected by the same academic criteria as permanent Harrow School staff.
